Painter, illustrator and teacher, Sixto Cotto has produced hundreds of posters and serigraphs over fifteen years devoted to art. The elements and expressions of Puerto Rican culture frequently appear in his artwork portrayed through his particular creative view.

Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, Cotto obtained a Bachelor Degree in the School of Fine Arts of the Puerto Rican Cultural Institute, where he made his minor in Graphic Arts with renown Puerto Rican artists-professors José R. Alicea and Antonio Martorell. His work has been included in "The Poster in Puerto Rico: 1946-1985" and in "The Serigraph Print in Puerto Rico: Four Decades", both presented in the Museum of the University of Puerto Rico; and "A Bridge Over an Ocean: The Art of Puerto Rican Poster", traveling exhibiton between 1985 and 1987 through various univesities in the Continental United States. Cotto has also exhibited his works on several solo shows.
